What is premature ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation is when a man experiences ejaculation soon after sexual contact; typically within two minutes of the beginning of sexual intercourse. Average male ejaculatory latency time is seven minutes. Men with PE often report emotional and relationship distress and it can be a difficult issue to talk about.
How do I take Priligy?
One Priligy tablet is to be taken with water one to three hours before sex. Priligy can be taken with or without food but is not to be taken more than once per day. In addition, Priligy is not intended for use every day, only when sexual activity is anticipated. The recommended starting dose of Priligy is 30mg but if your condition does not improve after taking this dosage, you can be prescribed the 60mg dose.

Always read the patient information leaflet before commencing treatment. Patient information can be found here.
Effectiveness
Priligy is part of a group of drugs called selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It works by acting on a neurotransmitter called serotonin and slowing down the ejaculatory reflex message to your brain via the sympathetic nervous system.
The results of numerous clinical trials have shown that Priligy can extend sexual performance time by 200% to 300%.
Side effects
Priligy is normally well tolerated, however side effects can include:
• Dizziness
• Headaches
• Nausea or diarrhoea
It is not recommended to take alcohol with this medicine- the side effects of Priligy such as dizziness and fainting can be increased if taken with alcohol. In addition the effects of alcohol such as feeling dizzy, sleepy and having slow reactions can be increased by Priligy.
Priligy has a number of interactions with other medicines, if you are unsure if it will interact with any medicines you are currently taking, please email us.
Priligy can cause a lowering of blood pressure as can drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (such as Viagra). For this reason we recommend not to use these treatments in conjunction with one another.
